A Princeton graduate, Ramsay, who is the founder of RamsayTalks, RamsayTravels, and RamsayWrites, has been known to grab life by the neck and throttle it.  A tour de force living-life-on-the-edge while also working hard to round the corners of those edges, Love or die trying is a bang up narrative of Ramsay’s ascent to the top, which was quickly followed by his descent to the bottom as he fell into the ‘iron grip’ of a  cocaine addiction.

Ramsay’s account of his deep-seated fears when he was a child and the impact of those emotions as he goes through life, accomplishing both great heights while also experiencing deep setbacks, is epic. The stint in rehab for his drug addiction, the debilitating heart attack, (his heart stopped and things got much worse after it was restarted), and subsequent AFib episodes that impacted his concentration — “my memory leaked everywhere” — Ramsay’s courage, determination and steadfast humour took him from the brink of death and destruction to a life full of outsized escapades.

An adventure and exercise devotee, Ramsay, who states that he eats willpower for breakfast, humorously shares the first real conversation he had with his now wife, Jean Marmoreo, who described him at the time “as mad, bad and dangerous.”

Of course, Marmoreo, a doctor who has gone from delivering babies to being a champion of assisted-death, is no slouch herself. She too is adventure-driven and is a world-calibre marathoner.

In fact, one of her medical colleagues spoke for everyone when she answered the question, “What’s the most dangerous place in the world?”

“Wherever Jean and Bob are standing.”

Described as ‘How I lost it all, died, and came back for love,” Love or die trying is a thought-provoking and poignant story around living life on life’s terms with purpose, panache and humour.
